The Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi will be a major asset to the party in the 2027 election, according to PDP chieftain Dan Ulasi.
Ulasi reportedly stated that the civil war will officially end if the Southeast produces the president during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday.
Additionally, he stressed that former President Goodluck Jonathan has little to contribute to the party and cautioned against his joining it again or running for office in 2027.
If Jonathan chooses to run for president on the PDP platform, Ulasi says President Bola Tinubu should have an easy victory.
“PDP needs to find a candidate from the South, which must be decided internally,” he stated. And I believe the Southeast is ready to deliver the next president.

“I think we would have accomplished one thing, which would be the formal end of the civil war, if the PDP didn’t try to point out that the presidency is zoned to the Southeast and a Southeasterner wins the presidency.
“It would be the first time that the residents of that area feel like they belong.” On both sides of the conflict, we lost thousands of lives.
“We’re working to see if we can get Peter Obi back into the party; if we can, it will be tremendously beneficial.
“There must be some attributes that Peter Obi possesses that the vast majority of people think, if put to good use, will raise this nation’s standard of living well above what it is now.
Jonathan has completed six years, and I hope he gets the greatest possible outcome. He has nothing more to contribute, therefore Tinubu will win easily if he wishes to rejoin the party.
