Allow me to introduce a concept. Members of the party have misconceptions, and Nigerians, of course, occasionally attempt to mislead others. We strictly adhere to the constitution, which governs the Peoples Democratic Party. Anyone can now aim to be anything they want to be under the party’s program, and the party has, oddly, zoned it to the south for the presidency.
The president, Goodluck Jonathan, is a party member. If he is in good standing with the party, he has the right to aim for any post because he hasn’t stated that he isn’t a member, and I have no reason to suspect that he isn’t.
With the exception of President Jonathan’s name, which is being mentioned and bandied about, I stated that the PDP has many highly qualified members, including governors, who have proven their abilities through their accomplishments and performances.
That is, then, the most obvious argument that has to be presented. The party was not represented by me. Insofar as the party has decided that the presidential candidate would be chosen from among the governors, they are obviously qualified and highly qualified if they do.
