By giving brand-new dining furniture sets to the school, the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Oyo Class of 1995 has left a lasting impression on their former mater. This gift combines sentimentality with significant influence.
Inaugurated by Dr. Oladebo Dapo-Ojo, the current president of the Class of 1995, the donation was a component of the alumni’s 30th anniversary celebration, which had as its subject “30 Years of Growth & Grace.”
The presentation, which was given during the group’s four-day pearl jubilee celebration, transformed one of the most important areas in the school and went beyond symbolic to actually improve the wellbeing of the children. The dated furniture that has been in the dining room for many years has been replaced with contemporary tables and chairs.
The improvement has made the space for meals and socializing more hygienic, cozy, and conducive. Mealtimes have evolved into times for the 650 pupils at the school to unwind, bond, and feel proud.
Instructors and school officials praised the Class of ’95 for their well-considered proposal, saying it has greatly raised spirits and strengthened the strong sense of community that characterizes FGGC Oyo.
During the presentation, Engr. Olalekan K. G., the Chairman of the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, praised the alumni for their generosity and vision.
“Your contribution teaches today’s students the importance of gratitude and giving back, beyond the comfort these dining sets bring,” he said.
Among the celebration’s highlights were the gifts given to more than 1,300 students and a number of engaging workshops covering critical life skills and awareness subjects like financial literacy, abuse prevention, cyber safety and digital footprints, general health and hygiene, and security awareness. Special prayers for the pupils’ ongoing success and wellbeing were said as the events came to a close.
Alumni from all around Nigeria and the diaspora came together for the reunion, which fostered an environment of introspection, happiness, and reaffirmed dedication.
Members reflected on their early years at FGGC Oyo and reaffirmed their commitment to giving back to the organization that influenced their values and goals, including Dr. Olamide Thompson Odeneye, Chairperson of the 30th Anniversary Planning Committee.
For the Class of ’95, this legacy project is more than just a gift; it is a link between generations, an expression of appreciation, and a tangible representation of the FGGC Oyo spirit that inspires service, sisterhood, and excellence.
