Maxwell Opara, a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team, has stated that the “Free Nnamdi Kanu” demonstration will go on in spite of the police incursion.
To continue the demonstration and reorganize, Opara stated that they will go to the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Gwagwalada neighborhood.
Aloy Ejimakor, Nnamdi Kanu’s Special Counsel, Prince Kanu, and activist politician Omoyele Sowore had initiated the demonstration to call for the IPOB leader’s release.
The protesters were dispersed by the police, who also prevented them from entering the Presidential Villa.
Feeling resentful, Opara charged that President Bola Tinubu was attempting to suppress free speech, pointing out that the president was the result of demonstrations.
Opara asserts that Tinubu is the result of protest. Because he was demonstrating against Jonathan, he was able to get there.
Jonathan wouldn’t be there today, in my opinion, if he had refused to cede power to President Muhammadu Buhari.
