The 10 maritime workers abducted by suspected pirates in Rivers State have reportedly regained their freedom.

The workers were abducted by the criminals along the Bonny – Port Harcourt waterway on September 2.

A security source told journalists on Saturday the kidnappers abandoned the victims on the Onne channel when they noticed operatives of the Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operations Base (FOB), Bonny were trailing them.

He added that the workers were reunited with their families after medical treatments.
