According to reports, Abia State Governor Alex Otti has started looking for ways to advance his political career beyond the Labour Party (LP) and the Obidient movement in 2027.
This follows the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recent decision to reestablish the Julius Abure faction’s recognition.
According to a Daily Sun report, LP has now joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as an appendix through the Abure faction.
According to sources, the APC, which vowed to undermine and destabilize any party structure with Peter Obi’s approval prior to the 2027 presidential election, regarded the LP issue as a prime opportunity to carry out its anti-Obi agenda.
Unbelievably, the Abure section of the LP, which was first banned by INEC, is now facing the power of the judiciary and INEC, according to a source, which illustrates how the LP has turned into an APC pawn. The deeply compromised APC hirelings in the Abure-led LP NWC are determined to get revenge on Governor Otti, Obi, and members of the National and State Assemblies who attended the Umuahia meeting and formed the caretaker committee.
Abure and his team are planning destructive landmines against the group of LP members I just described in 2027. According to reliable sources, every effort will be made to prevent Otti, Obi, and current members of the National and State Assembly who attended the Umuahia meeting from receiving LP tickets in 2027 unless higher courts ultimately uphold Abure’s removal, which appears unlikely given that certain interests in the ruling APC have seriously undermined otherwise impartial state institutions.

The faction’s fall into the APC is a component of the overall plan. Other choices include either selecting President Tinubu as its presidential candidate for 2027 or putting up a weak Yoruba candidate who will present the president with little to no opposition at the polls.
According to a supporter of Governor Otti who asked to remain anonymous “because I’m not supposed to speak to the press about this thing or reveal it,” the governor is aware of Abure’s antics and the upcoming ambush against his reelection and has put safeguards in place to keep them at bay.
“I can confidently tell you that His Excellency, Governor Otti, is far ahead of Abure and his group in their plan to torpedo his second term; Governor Otti is set to chart a separate, independent political future,” he said, regardless of whatever political realignment or configuration His Excellency, Peter and the Obidient movement may be planning in light of the mess the Labour Party has become.
