On Wednesday, officers from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Ajao Adewale, carried out a comprehensive street-cleaning effort across the territory’s several divisions.
The celebrations for the 2025 National Police Day feature a three-day community outreach event as part of this project.
Adewale made it clear throughout the exercise that its goal was to illustrate the police’s vital role in the community.
He added that preserving a tidy and ordered environment aids in discouraging criminal activities.
“Environmental sanitation has always included police,” he stated. The police are always present to enforce compliance whenever a clean-up activity is announced, as you will find out. We have come here today to show that we are a part of the community because cleanliness is second only to godliness.
We have come to emphasize that a neat and orderly atmosphere deters crime.
Across other commands, including Abaji and Gwagwalada, our local commanders are organizing such exercises.
“We are setting the standard because this community is home to our command headquarters.”
In the meantime, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, a police officer in Kaduna State, threatened to revenge for the murder of some northerners in Edo State, prompting ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Nigerian Police Force’s public relations officer, to promise to take the appropriate action.
In response to the recent lynching of sixteen Northern-origin travelers in Uromi, Edo State, Dan-Taki reportedly vowed revenge assaults against Southerners residing in northern Nigeria in a Facebook comment.

The Almighty God promised Dan-Taki that Northerners would inflict severe punishment on Southerners within their country.
“I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys. Have you forgotten all your brothers that are leaving here in the North? Make my word, and you will see the result in a week,” he wrote.
After his comment was repeatedly criticized, Dan-Taki changed his first name and blocked access to his Facebook page, which reduced the number of people who could see his posts and comments.
Adejobi was tagged in a screenshot of Dan-Taki’s post by 𝕏 user UcheDIgboezeson, who captioned it, “#Princemoye1, take care of this sir.”
