Afashio-Uzairue Community, APAN Lagos Branch, Mourn Late Inspector Akika George Abuimehere
…Says he will be remembered for simplicity, unity and selfless service.

Members of the Afashio-Uzairue Community and the Lagos Branch of the Afashio Progressive Association of Nigeria (APAN) have announced plans to give a befitting farewell to late Inspector Akika George Abuimehere, who died at the age of 59.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of APAN Lagos Branch, Sir Eragbhe-Omole Paschal (KSM), the late Inspector Abuimehere, popularly known as “Gorgo”, will be buried on May 23, 2026, at his residence. The association called on members and sympathisers to turn out en masse to honour the deceased and support the Akika Dynasty during the burial rites.
The statement described the deceased as an illustrious son of the Afashio-Uzairue community in the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, whose life reflected unity, humility, and service to humanity. The association noted that his death was a painful loss not only to his family but also to friends, colleagues, associates, and the wider community.
“Late Abuimehere was true to his name’s meaning. He was a man whose life spoke volumes of honour and good virtues. He will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with him,” the statement read.
The group further urged members to remain united and prayerful during the period of mourning, while calling for peaceful conduct and support for the bereaved family.
In a separate tribute issued by the Akika Dynasty, the late Inspector Akika George Abuimehere was described as a man of immense substance, simplicity, warmth, and quiet resilience.
The family stated that his passing on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, came as a shock and left many in grief and sorrow. They, however, expressed gratitude for what they described as his selfless service to humanity and unwavering commitment to family and community values.
Quoting Psalm 116:15, the tribute noted that “Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His saints,” while praying for God’s comfort upon all those mourning his demise.
The family prayed for the repose of his soul and urged loved ones to take solace in the good legacies and virtues he left behind.
