Aisha Yesufu, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has lamented DIG Frank Mba’s retirement from the Nigeria Police Force.
Following recent changes in the institution’s leadership, it was rumored that the Deputy Inspector-General of Police and a number of other top personnel would be retiring.
Some top officers have been placed on the retirement list following the resignation of previous Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and the confirmation of Tunji Disu as the new police chief.
In response, Aisha Yesufu expressed her sadness over the development in a post on X, accusing senior government officials of nepotism and tribalism.
“I am so saddened about the retirement of DIG Frank Mba,” she wrote. An officer with so much to give the country, especially the police department, which is in dire need of reform!
“How can we combat terrorism when our security architecture has become absurd?
“Terrorists will have the upper hand when tribalism, nepotism, and lack of merit are the norm!”
