Thugs attack the PDP conference, injuring many people.
Following raids in 15 communities in Gusau Local Council, Zamfara State, bandits kidnapped around 30 women.

According to a BBC Hausa Service report, bandits stormed Geba and Gidan Kaura villages, as well as other locations in Gusau, killing men and destroying property, according to some residents.

They stated, “The bandits grabbed ladies and girls and took them away.”

The bandits kidnapped ten ladies in Kura and nine in Bayauri, according to a local. “They also kidnapped seven people in a town called Gana before moving on to Duma and kidnapping another seven.” These incidents occurred prior to Sunday morning.”

Many villages have been deserted, according to the article, as inhabitants flock to Gusau, the state capital.

However, Ibrahim Dosara, the Commissioner for Information, acknowledged that the attack took place in Geba, and that security officials were dispatched to the scene shortly afterward to calm the situation.

“Soldiers working in that zone traveled to Geba and encountered three people who were injured,” he said. The outlaws were dispersed by the army.”

Security agents did not visit the villages that were targeted, according to the commissioner.

In a related development, some political thugs attacked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conference in Zamfara, injuring a number of people.

The event, which was originally scheduled for Zaitun Oil Mill, was rescheduled for the Command Guest House in Gusau, the state capital.

The armed thugs reportedly began assaulting and stoning PDP members as soon as they got at the venue in the early hours of Tuesday. They also set fire to voting papers, nomination forms, two party members’ vehicles, chairs, and canopies, according to reports.

Umar Aminu, the Deputy Governor’s Personal Secretary, stated the event would not scare the party, and that the congress will go on as planned. He stated the assailants were unknown and that security organizations will look into the incident.

Despite the attack, the Deputy Governor, Mahdi Gusau, and the party’s Caretaker Chairman, Bala Mande, were present at the new congress venue.

The congress drew 1,089 delegates from around the state, with the goal of producing senior PDP executives who will steer the party’s operations.
