The Nigerian Air Force Headquarters’ Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa, said Wednesday morning that the first mission involved NAF fighter jets eliminating a gun truck and neutralizing multiple fighters, while the second mission involved close air support to repel an attack on ground troops.

He claimed that the first operation started with reliable information about the whereabouts of a terrorists’ gun truck, which was around five kilometers west of Kukawa.

The weapons truck was destroyed and the terrorists’ ability was crippled when NAF fighter jets quickly arrived and precisely attacked the target.

The second mission involved the AC OPHK responding to a distress call from ground soldiers in Kukawa who were being heavily attacked by motorbike terrorists.

“The NAF air assets reacted quickly, interacting with the terrorists at several points in time. Numerous terrorists were neutralized by the strike, and our ground forces retrieved more than 20 abandoned motorcycles.
