Borno State Police Command said its Rapid Response Squad (RRS) nabbed two suspects in Maiduguri during a stop-and-search operation with 25 mobile phones of various models.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the suspects admitted to stealing phones from their owners in communities and villages along the Borno-Adamawa State boundary.
“The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted in court following an inquiry.
“Efforts are currently underway to reunite the recovered phones with their rightful owners” , the official stated.

The Command, through its PPRO, underlined its commitment to public safety, especially during the impending Yuletide season.
It recommended the public to be aware of their surroundings and report any unusual activity inside their domain.
