Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has arrived at the Federal High Court in the state capital for continuation of his ongoing corruption trial.
El-Rufai was at the court with officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigeria Police Force.
The case concerns allegations of abuse of office, fraud and financial misconduct while he was governor.
The funds were released improperly for projects that were not carried out or were run irregularly, the prosecutors said.
El-Rufai meanwhile has denied all the charges and insists he is innocent.
The case will continue before the court on Monday with both the prosecution and defence expected to present motions and arguments.
