Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a well-known Nigerian statesman and the head of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), died at the age of 97.

A statement announcing Clark’s passing was signed by Mr. Penawei Clark for the children and Prof. C. C. Clark for the family.

The announcement states that Clark died on Monday, February 17, 2025.

“The family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State’s Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo would like to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, February 17, 2025,” the statement says.

“The family is grateful for your prayers during this difficult time. The family will make other announcements later.

The most recent tragedy follows the reported death of Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, an elder statesman and chairman of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization Afenifere.

Adebanjo, 96, passed away on Friday morning.
