In response to the continued violence against locals by gunmen thought to be Fulani militants, protests broke out in Plateau State’s capital, Jos, on Monday morning.
According to reports, the protests, which were led by Christian leaders such as Rev. Polycarp Lubo, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), started at the Fawvwei Junction community road. This caused heavy traffic and left many travelers stuck.
With over 100 fatalities reported in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs in the last two weeks, violent occurrences in many communities have been on the rise, coinciding with this most recent demonstration.

We are not pleased with the ongoing shootings and assaults in our neighborhoods. We have returned to protest these events because of this,” one of the demonstrators, Gyang Dalyop, stated.
Another demonstrator, Hannatu Philip, called for the government to intervene before things worsen, according to The PUNCH.
The protesters were seen moving in the direction of the Rayfield Government House while brandishing placards bearing a variety of themes.
