Bukola Saraki, the former president of the Senate, and members of the PDP Reconciliation Committee are currently meeting behind closed doors with Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, in an attempt to reposition the party for upcoming problems.
Saraki verified the news on social media, saying that he is having important conversations about the party’s future with Governor Mbah and important PDP Strategy Committee members.
Saraki said, “Her Excellency Governor Peter Mbah, Senators Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, who are both members of the PDP Strategy and Way Forward Committee, are with me in Enugu State right now.”

In order to realign our party for the future it deserves, he said, “We’re here to have the necessary conversations—frank, focused, and long overdue.” He emphasized the significance of these discussions.
Dave Umahi’s assertions that all South-East governors, including Mbah, were siding with President Bola Tinubu and would shortly support his 2027 reelection campaign preceded the meeting.
Visiting Enugu with former Governors Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, Saraki demonstrates the PDP’s resolve to hold onto power in the vital South-East. As the 2027 elections approach, the PDP is seeing pressure from both the inside and the outside.
