A Catholic priest, Fr. Angelo Chidi Unegbu, has said that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who has been convicted, had warned Nigerians about terrorism before the security crisis escalated, but he was not listened to.
But Fada Angelo, who described the IPOB leader as a prophet, said his warning was not taken seriously in a post on his official Facebook page Friday.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu told us. People prayed for a prophet. He sent a prophet but they did not know him,” he said.
Those who ignored Kanu’s warning about the escalating violence in the country were “praying for a messiah to deliver them from insecurity, terrorism and oppression,” the cleric said.
“Yet, perhaps, the answer they seek has already been presented to them.”
Fada Angelo stated that “no one is going to come and rescue us from these present security challenges. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”.
He urged Nigerians to “stand together in courage, in unity and in purpose”, saying: “When the people come together, fear loses its grip and darkness gives way to light.
“The day we choose to stand together is the day we start our liberation. Glad to see so many brains reset to factory default. That is the first condition.
