Council of Ezes in Lagos tour commands – promise to work in synergy with the police.

Interestingly, Igbo traditional rulers have shown utmost cooperation to work in synergy with the police in Lagos as council of Ezes pays a curtsey call to various commands on 25th, May, 2023 to appreciate Nigeria Police for their resilience towards combating crime while serving the people, More also to establish a more enabling accessibility to police chiefs who has effortlessly remain professional in their various positions of
authority.
The council of Ezes who are:
Eze Dr. C. C. Nwokedi – Eze Ndigbo Ijegun/Ijedodo (Chairman Council of Ndi Eze Lagos), Eze Jude Arinze – Eze Ndigbo Okota/Isolo (Vice Chairman Ndi Eze Council Lagos), Eze Ferdinand Aguneke – Eze Ndigbo Eredo LCDA, Epe( General secretary Ndi Eze Council Lagos), Eze Sunday A. Ojukwu – Eze Ndigbo Awumo Odofin ( Financial secretary Ndi Eze council Lagos), Eze Kingsley Nwololo – Eze Ndigbo Eti-Osa ( Provost Marshal Ndi Eze Council Lagos), Eze Uche Omeiheoma – Eze Ndigbo Lekki LCDA ( Welfare Officer), Eze John Nwoche – Eze Ndigbo Ojodu ( Ex- Officio), Eze Dr. Alex Nwoye – Eze Ndigbo Ejigbo LCDA, Edwin Obi – Eze Ndigbo Surulere, Eze Emmanuel Okoro – Eze Ndigbo Agbado- Oke Odo and also the President General of Igbo speaking community, Chief Sunday Udeh.
The council of Ezes first point of call is the Zone 2 Command Onikan Lagos under the control of AIG Ari Mohammed Ali. The chairman of the council of Ezes in Lagos, Eze Chika Nwokedi has seemed it fit to go with other Ezeships to show support as well as create an enabling relationship for recognition. This synergy symbolizes solidarity with the Nigeria Police to create a more established platform for a mutual relationship.
The council of traditional rulers made presentation of gifts magnanimously at the office of AIG Ari Mohammed,an unanimity offering in appreciation of Nigeria Police for the endless service of fight against crime and criminality while also protecting lives and properties in the society. It is indeed a very tasking assignment to maintain integrity as NPF over time created a platform where officers can do their job earnestly with the support of community policing, an avenue also advantageous for igbo traditional rulers to pass on information of irregularities within their jurisdiction of rule.
During the visit at the AIG Zone 2, The council of chairman Ndi Eze HRH Chika Nwokedi established the reason for the visit, the secretary of the council, Eze Ferdinand Aguneke formally introduced the Ezes who attended. The President General of Igbo Speaking Chief Sunday Udeh also re-established the purpose of visit, emphasized on the need to synergise with the police to enable a resolvent that could help foster a long lasting relation with the Nigerian Police. Their preparedness to work asidiously in service to humanity is commendable, the council acknowledged.
In appreciation, DC Admin, Omar Shelleng thanked the Ezes for the show of support and gifts given, says the visit is a very thoughtful one to further promote solidarity between the Nigeria Police and Igbo traditional leaders in Lagos who had deemed it fit to support the police.
The council of Ezes then proceeded to the FCIID Alagbon to pay curtsey to AIG Frank Mba – the AIG in charge of Alagbon, CP Austines Akika – CP Admin Alagbon, DC Chioma Ajunwa, for their professionalism in policing. The aforementioned police chiefs were awarded by the council, there was also presentation of gifts and other items to show support and appreciation.
AIG Frank Mba received the guest warmly, In appreciation he expressed how honoured he feels for being shown the magnitude of recognition he is getting from Igbo traditional rulers in Lagos, says the council has chosen the right leader HRH Eze Dr CC Nwokedi who has tirelessly worked for the interest of the igbos in Lagos. He told the council how much they have made him happy, a gesture never to be forgotten.
CP Austines Akika expressed profound gratitude, tells the council to keep peace and unity amongst themselves as they have chosen a good leader Eze Chika Nwokedi who is a credible and has been a good friend to the Nigeria Police for many years still counting and he has never downplayed the Nigeria Police, he had always promoted the image of the Police, advised them to follow suit while he establishes a relationship with the Ezes.
