Following the guild’s national election in Benin City, Edo State, Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa was chosen as the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s National Vice President.
On Monday, December 8, 2025, her media office reportedly acknowledged the development in a statement.
According to the statement, the members of the guild have faith in her long career and her commitment to the organization’s expansion, which is reflected in her new position.
As she assumes the national role, Amusa stated that she intends to provide the AGN Secretariat with new ideas, order, and consistent service.
She also expressed her hope that her background in acting and filmmaking will enable her to advocate for greater possibilities for Nigerian actors and actresses nationwide.
The actress, who has produced films like the Yoruba feature Dewunmi Iberu and starred in other Nollywood films, stated that she wants the Nigerian film industry to flourish and occupy its proper position in the country’s growth.
In addition, she is the Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an organization started by Bashorun Femi Branch to unite the best performers in Ijebuland. The group honors the heritage and culture of Ogun State’s Remoland and Ijebuland communities.
Rita Daniels, the mother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, was reportedly unsuccessful in her ambition to become the head of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
She was one of the well-liked candidates in the election to replace departing President Emeka Rollas, which took place on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The current National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, was her principal rival and ultimately prevailed.
