Don Jazzy, speaking in a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, said Johnny Drille has no rival in the Nigerian music industry, it was reported.

The Mavin boss said Johnny Drille’s music is unique and he is versatile.

“If you look at the Nigerian music industry right now, there is nobody like Johnny Drille,” he said. He is a world by himself. He’s like the best musician. The whole musician that I know. He is flexible. He mixes and writes and sings. He does all the things.

“He’s also a fantastic performer, the way he sounds in the studio is how he sounds in live shows.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian female sensational singer, Tiwa Savage, has talked about the struggles she faced when she switched from R&B to Afrobeats after her return to Nigeria in 2012.

The Nigerian music industry has grown so much that Tiwa Savage started her career abroad as a backup singer for artists like George Michael and Mary J before coming back to Nigeria and signing with Mavin Records.

Tiwa Savage, in an interview with TVC, said she was able to transition from R&B to Afrobeats because her former label boss, Don Jazzy, made her believe that talent is unlimited.

The ‘Kele Kele Love’ crooner said Don Jazzy opened her mind to a lot of different things and made her believe she can do anything if she concentrated on it.

Tiwa Savage also says she has no regrets about coming back to Nigeria and changing from R&B to Afrobeats.
