Edo: A gun duel between security operatives and Kidnappers in Afuze leaves 3 hospitalized over gun shot injuries

Information revealed that there was serious Kidnapping operation between Uokha and Igue Saleh along Afuze road on the night of 27th January, 2024 with severe casualties involving Police and Vigilantes.
The Kidnappers were said to have operated between Igue Saleh and Uokha as Vigilantes along the affected axis was mobilised for the operation, Police from Otuo were also mobilised to provide the Vigilante cover.
The Kidnappers overpowered the combined team of Vigilante and Police rescue team with the use of sophisticated weapons during a gun duel.
Eye witness reports states that One Igue Oke a Police Officer in the team was brutally shot at and critically injured, Three(3) of Igue Saleh Vigilantes are also presently receiving Gun Shots treatment with, one of the 3 vigilantes injured is in critical condition.

The Edo State Government’s attention has been drawn to the situation, the Local Government Chairman of Afuze also visited the casualties in the Hospital.
