Aisha Achimugu, a businesswoman and socialite, says that her company got an oil bloc through a fair bidding process that took place between 2022 and 2024.
Achimugu said this on Monday while answering questions on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Reports say that Achimugu had already denied claims that $13 million was taken from her home, saying that only $50,000 and N13 million were found during a raid on her home.
She said that her company took part in both the deep offshore bid round that took place between 2022 and 2023 and a mini bid round that took place between 2023 and 2024.
She said that her company, which works in the oil and gas industry, met all the requirements and came out on top.
It was said that her comments came at a time when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was looking into her. The EFCC had already said she was wanted for allegedly being involved in a criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
As part of its investigation, the anti-corruption agency also searched her home. There were conflicting reports about how much money was found during the search.
She said, “There were two bid rounds that took place between 2022 and 2023 and another mini bid round that took place between 2023 and 2024.”
“We were a part of this process.” We run an oil and gas company because we have all the resources we need and I’m very bold and ambitious. I have the team to do it.
“We went through that process, and by God’s grace, we won it. Very clearly. It was a process that everyone could see. It wasn’t chosen.
