By Onome Naomi
Eze Chika Nwokedi Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo, Chairman Council of Ndieze Igbo Lagos, observes his usual annual Thanksgiving at the Fire, Grace, and Mercy Ministry to appreciate God for the gift of life in good health, wealth, and sound mind on Sunday, November 24th, 2024.
Friends and well wishers turned up e-mass to commemorate Eze Chika Nwokedi’s event of annual thanksgiving. Dignitaries who graced the occasion include the president of the Igbo Speaking Community, Chief Sunday Udeh, and his secretary, Mr. Chuks; members and executives of the Igbo Speaking Community, Ijegun; cabinet chiefs of Eze Chika Nwokedi’s palace; members and executives of the Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria; and invited ministers, friends, and key family relations of Eze Chika.
Eze Chika mounted the podium to preach about seed and harvest; the title of his sermon reads, “The use of the best approach when asking God for a favor: What exactly are you asking God for?.” He quoted verses of the scriptures that define the manner of approaches that move God to answer prayers. He buttressed that those who do not sow into the lives of people should not expect so much from God. The reaping of a harvest depends on your commitment to God and your earthly endeavors to man through selfless services.
He spotted examples of his selfless service, which has helped him overcome lack and earned him a respectable image in the eyes of the public. He added that the confidence unknown persons have about his magnanimity stems from his good deeds towards others. As part of his selfless service, Eze Chika was moved to bless a certain elderly woman with a sum of N200, 000 as led by his spirit to give generously.
Speaking with Pst. Tessy Chika Nwokedi, the wife of Eze Chika Nwokedi and the chaperone of the Fire, Grace, and Mercy Ministry, she noted that the act of thanksgiving is paramount in the life of a Christian as it is a measure to appreciate God for life, his mercy, provision, grace, and other benefits gained from serving God. She added that the formation of her ministry was a direction from the Holy Spirit till date, as with the annual November Thanksgiving. Pst. Tessy thanked God for upholding the record of the ministry without any unfortunate situation and told the public to imbibe the act of thanksgiving even during the economic downturn Nigeria is currently facing in hopes and faith that there shall be a resolve.
Activities during the thanksgiving event includes: the cutting of thanksgiving anniversary cake, drama presentation, choir ministration, testimonies, others…
