Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) to put up a strong front in an effort to unseat President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement released on Wednesday, he called on the ADC’s key political blocs to be unified and uncompromised in their vision.
The APC chieftain cautioned that if a home is split against itself, such a vision cannot be realized.
He denounced the recent words and deeds of the Obedient Movement, a political group that supports former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Eze considered the only fundamental goal that guided the creation of the ADC vision. According to him, this goal is to free Nigerians from the said bonds of poor administration, corruption, nepotism, and starvation that the current Tinubu APC government has imposed on them.
Eze was responding to a fake statement that was making the rounds on social media and attributed to Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, one of the political pillars of ADC.
He claimed that a statement attributed to the previous governor of Rivers State that praised Peter Obi was untrue and that his ally had never created such a device.
He claimed, “It was born out of the erratic imagination of those wallowing in murky waters of illusion and desperation, who are out to blackmail and run down Amaechi and others.”
“This behavior is completely condemnable in addition to being undesirable and repugnant. I do implore Peter Obi to warn those members of his Obedient Movement who have determined that this approach is the best to use in the lead-up to selecting the party’s presidential candidate.
“This is such a bad habit and cunning tactic that nobody can get the ADC ticket.”
“To the best of my knowledge and that of Nigerians, there is no doubt that the ADC Presidential ticket is graciously available. Everything will come together in due course. We shouldn’t be in a rush to sink our ship out of self-gratification.
Eze warned, “I therefore appeal to my brother, Peter Obi, and his loyalists to exercise restraint, avoid desperation and blackmail of any magnitude, and not to rock a cruise boat on a patriotic sail.”
