Faparusi Slams Kwankwaso’s Allegations Against Tinubu as Malicious

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has criticized Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, for allegedly accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of favoring Southern Nigeria in the projects his administration was carrying out.

According to Faparusi, a leader of the All Progressives Congress, who punctuated the assertion, the North was given much more preference in President Tinubu’s administration when it came to project execution, much more so than the Southwest, where a major federal road connecting the two regions is currently in appalling condition.

The New Nigerian Peoples Party chieftain and former governor of Kano State claimed at a gathering on Friday that President Tinubu’s projects favored the South of the country over the North, a claim that sparked outrage across the country.

Faparusi claimed in a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday that while numerous road projects were being undertaken throughout the North, including the Kaduna-Abuja, Katsina-Kano, Sokoto-Katsina, and Sokoto-Badagry super highways, the entire Southwest federal roads, aside from the Ibadan-Lagos Highway, were pocked with gorges and craters.

Although he did not defend a president who was biased against any part of the nation, Faparusi explained that it was clear to all Nigerians that under the late President Muhammadu Buhari, the North was given preference in appointments and projects during his eight years in office.

With all 12 federal highways in Ekiti State having collapsed and turned into boot traps for drivers, the former legislator urged Tinubu’s administration to take notice of the appalling condition of the federal roads in the Southwest.

Under President Tinubu’s administration, the North is receiving a greater portion of project attention, which His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso ought to be aware of.

“There is ample evidence that driving on major highways in the Southwest, where the president was born, such as Ado-Akure, Lagos-Abeokuta, Ekiti-Lokoja, Ibadan-Akure highway, Osogbo-Ibadan, Ibadan-Abeokuta, and many others, is currently impossible.”

In order to support his claim, he urged Kwankwaso to refute the president’s stance on his accusations and questioned the federal government’s programs drawn out in each geopolitical arena.

In order to persuade Nigerians that his assertion was genuine and honest, the APC Chieftain threw down the gauntlet to Kwankwaso to produce reliable data.

Faparusi continued by adding that President Tinubu’s political career had been free of unjustified ethnicity and that his cabinet, which included members from different ethnic backgrounds, was known as a “mini Nigeria” while he was the governor of Lagos State.

The former Federal legislator claimed Kwankwaso made the remark to cheaply win over Northern voters, especially now that he mistakenly believes he is the political leader of the North following President Muhammadu Buhari’s death.

There was hate in this statement, which claimed that President Tinubu’s projects favored the South. Unless he could refute the facts, the projects presented by the president and the works minister were sufficient to undermine everything former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso had to say.

“I want to warn the leader of the NNPP not to continue acting carelessly because he has mistakenly begun posing as the political leader of the North due to President Buhari’s passing.

“Be responsible, able to bring people together, and avoid causing division by making inflammatory remarks if you want to be a leader.

It should be clear to His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso that he is working feverishly to become President of Nigeria, not just the Northern extraction.

When President Tinubu was governor of Lagos State, he chose members of his cabinet from a wide range of ethnic origins. His pan-Nigerian identity was demonstrated. Even while he didn’t do anything like that as a governor, how can he suddenly become ethnically discriminatory as president? “What?” Faparusi inquired.

“Most of the well-known and vocal critics from the North have never accused President Tinubu of favoring the South in project execution,” Faparusi continued, adding that their main grievance has always been that the elimination of gasoline subsidies was more painful in that region of the country than in the south.
