In the Imo State hamlet of Umuneke, Mbieri, in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area, a bomb went off around midnight.
According to information obtained, the Saturday night explosion at a recently finished family home reduced the house to ruins, although no casualties were reported.
According to a source, Iyke Njoku, “The bang and the sound were both enormous.” After a while of waiting and hearing no screams or activity, we decided to check, only to discover the house in ruins.
When our neighbors from nearby villages contacted to inquire about the source of the noise, we went to make sure we were secure.
Even though the couple intended to move in by February, they had just finished the cottage.
“The fact that they are unable to move in as scheduled again makes all of their efforts pointless, which is really painful.”
On Sunday, one of the residents, Mr. Emma Emeka, informed our correspondent that they were startled awake by a loud noise throughout the night.

We were in our home when we heard a tremendous noise that sounded like an explosion, Emeka recalled. A recently built cottage was demolished while we hurried out. It happened so fast that no one could see what caused it or who was responsible.
“All we heard was the huge explosion, and now we’re looking at our kinsman’s new structure that has been reduced to ruins.
“The couple had put a lot of effort into finishing the building and had intended to move in this year, but they are unable to do so once more.
The amusing thing is that when nearby communities heard the explosion, they questioned where it originated. For dread of an attack, we all slept with one eye open.
Attempts to reach DSP Henry Okoye, the state police spokesperson, were unsuccessful since his phone did not connect.
