Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been placed in a challenging group for the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying tournament.

For the competition which will be held in Togo, the Aliyu Zubairu team has been drawn into Group B alongside Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

In Group A, hosts Togo will compete against Niger Republic, Ghana, and Benin Republic, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

The tournament is set to take place next month in Togo, while the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will be hosted by South Africa in January.

The January competition will also serve as a qualifier for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles had already begun their preparations for the WAFU Championship three weeks ago in Abuja.
