Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a former presidential adviser, has advised President Bola Tinubu to reconsider staying in office, arguing that leaving could be the wisest course of action for the nation.
Speaking on Monday’s episode of Arise TV’s Daybreak, he claimed that the President’s two and a half years in office had not lived up to the promises made or the accomplishments frequently attributed to him.
He maintained that Nigerians’ everyday struggles are not reflected in the government’s public statements.
“What he claims to be doing and what people claim to be living are very different,” he stated.
Baba-Ahmed also took issue with the President’s security strategy.
“President Buhari left a terrible security situation, and Tinubu doesn’t appear to have improved it; rather, it appears that he has made it worse,” he said.
He proposed that Tinubu should be asked to resign due to his advanced age, his long-standing desire to be president, and the fact that he had “no further value to offer.”
He declared, “I believe President Tinubu should quit if he loves Nigeria’s survival.”
“Whether within or outside his party, who has better qualities,” he continued, Nigerians should look for someone else in 2027.
