All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman Malam Yakubu Sani, Kauran Namoda, and three of his executive members, Jamilu Usman, Dantahiya Kasa, and Dangandi Marnona, have been kidnapped by bandits in Dan-Isa Ward.
While they were traveling to Talatan Mafara on Saturday, March 1, the incident took place. The criminals attacked them when they were trying to fix their car after it broke down on Mayanchi Road, a resident said.
The state APC chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, could not be reached, and ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, stated he was not aware of the occurrence.
The people are fed up with paying ransom, the resident bemoaned, because the bandits frequently do not free their hostages even after being paid.
He bemoaned the worsening security conditions in the region, claiming that more than 200 individuals are presently held captive, many of them were kidnapped along the Dansadau-Magami and Magami-Gusau routes.
Because we can’t trust the bandits, our people are sick of paying ransom. He stated, “They have gathered ransom but have not freed numerous kidnappees, some of whom were subsequently killed.”
