After the incident, Lande claimed to have learnt his lesson and would charge everyone who approached him for a job, including Michael Jackson.

On Friday, Lande explained in a video posted to his social media profile that he was paid ₦190,000, not ₦90,000 as previously stated.
He explained that the confusion resulted from the badly produced video in which he claimed Funke Akindele paid him just 90,000.
He pleaded for forgiveness from Funke, emphasizing that he did not want to be imprisoned.
