Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, has extended his heartfelt Christmas greetings to Christian faithful, emphasising the importance of reflecting on God’s boundless love exemplified through Jesus Christ’s birth.
He urged citizens to embrace compassion, generosity, and unity, and to show kindness, especially to those in need.
His words, “As we celebrate this season of joy, love, and hope, I extend my heartfelt Christmas greetings to you and your families.
“This season reminds us of the values that bind us together as a community—peace, tolerance, and the unwavering spirit of resilience. Let us use this time to show kindness to one another, especially to those in need, and to strengthen the bonds of love and friendship within our families and neighborhoods.
“As we prepare to usher in a new year, I reaffirm my commitment to the growth and prosperity of our dear state. Together, we will continue to build a Kogi State where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to our collective progress.
“May the joy of Christmas fill your hearts and homes, and may this season bring renewed hope, good health, and abundant blessings to you all.
“Merry Christmas, and may Kogi State and Nigeria experience peace and prosperity in the coming year.”
Similarly, Kogi State Head of Service, Dr. Elijah Evinemi, felicitated with Christians, encouraging them to reflect on Jesus Christ’s teachings and spread love, joy, and kindness.
“Merry Christmas to all civil servants and the good people of Kogi State. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us remember the values of love, kindness, and generosity that this season embodies.
“As we relax and recharge with our loved ones, let us not forget the less privileged among us. Let us spread love, joy, and kindness to those around us.

The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, also joined in the festive greetings, praising the peaceful coexistence between Christian and Muslim communities in Lokoja Emirate Council. He emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and harmony during the festive season.
“The unity between the Christians and the Muslims should continue. The Christian religion is peaceful, and adherents should follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
“It is the peaceful coexistence of the people in Lokoja that makes it the home of peace and Harmony.”
