The notorious Nigerian singer Portable, whose real name is Badmus Okikiola, has avoided being arrested again in response to a new petition against him.
Following the withdrawal of his petition against him on Tuesday, veteran Fuji artist Okunola Saheed, also known as Osupa, reportedly restored Portable’s freedom.
In a police petition, Osupa accused Portable of cyberstalking, inciting public unrest, criminal intimidation, and criminal defamation.

On Monday, Portable failed to meet his bail requirements and was placed under remand at the federal prison in Oke Kura, Ilorin.
When Osupa filed for the case’s withdrawal on Tuesday through his attorney, Opalekunde Ahmed, Portable received some respite.
However, Osupa also stopped Portable from being detained again by Ilorin, the managing director of Starwood Hotels, after he allegedly collected ₦6.3 million for a show that he did not do, according to a Punch report.
In a recent development, Osupa persuaded Yemi George, the hotel’s managing director, not to re-arrest Portable after he received ₦6.3 million for a show that he did not perform.
In order to return my money, I have all the paperwork I need to re-arrest him today (Tuesday), but I decided against it out of respect for the renowned Fuji musician Osupa.
“My company, Starwood Hotels O2 Arena, organized a performance for Portable in partnership with the leadership of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, but he never did,” George stated.
