The Yobe State Police Command reported that its officers had found livestock that had reportedly been stolen from border towns.
The animals that were rustled included 47 sheep, 4 rams, 2 goats, and 1 donkey, according to a statement released by the command through its spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim.
Ibrahim Umaru, 38, of Jammel Village, Jacusko LGA, was apprehended on December 5, 2024, while in possession of the stolen animals while on a police patrol in Babbangida, Tarmuwa LGA.
He clarified that the animals were purportedly taken from the border region between Nigeria and Chad by the suspect.

For prompt collection, the Command’s PPRO urged owners to come to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters with valid proof of ownership.
He declared, “The suspect has been arraigned in court and found guilty.”
In order for police officers to conduct a prompt search and potential recovery, State Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Ado, through the spokesperson, urged the public to report lost objects to the closest police station.
