According to Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State, the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) opposition coalition is geared around saving Nigeria rather than advancing a specific candidate’s bid for president.
Soon after being greeted by a resounding mob of fans, Tambuwal spoke in Sokoto and pledged that the coalition will soon present a coherent policy program that would address insecurity, boost the economy, and enhance the welfare of its constituents.
He bemoaned the lack of “a human face” in governance and said the All Progressives Congress-led government has not addressed the economy, insecurity, or the welfare of Nigerians.
He declared, “I am still dedicated to democracy, the rule of law, and responsible leadership.” No organization can force me to compromise these values. In 2018, I abandoned the APC because of the wrong things happening in this country. My motives for leaving are all more evident now.

According to him, decisive actions like hiring extra security guards have not been implemented in spite of the President’s authority.
“This coalition is not about any individual,” Tambuwal responded to assertions that the coalition is being formed to further Atiku Abubakar’s goals. The rescue of Nigeria is the goal. Nigerians now have a credible alternative thanks to the collaboration of the PDP, Labour Party, NNPP, and other political parties.
Regarding the elimination of fuel subsidies, Tambuwal recalled that he was against any sudden cutoff without warning.
“When I was Speaker, I cautioned against cutting subsidies without a people-protection structure in place. Nigerians had to pay the price for its abrupt removal.
Assuring that the alliance will provide a government model based on empathy, competence, and accountability, the senator asked Nigerians to band together behind leaders dedicated to genuine reform.
