Everyone in the area was thrilled when the advanced member of the presidency plane, which was scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, arrived at the airport at precisely 9:14 AM.

Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, is scheduled to be crowned on Friday, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is anticipated to attend.

The smooth landing highlights the airport’s infrastructure’s preparedness and ability to manage well-known flights in a safe and effective manner.

Setting a good example for future arrivals and departures, this is the first trip since March 2025, with the presidency flight to follow shortly.

In September 2024, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the airport renovation.

When the project is finished, it will link the state to the international market, Makinde had stated during the event.

The governor further stated that “the airport upgrade is expected to improve air travel operations and provide a dependable transportation network for both business and leisure travelers, positioning the state for economic growth and development.”

Previously, a fire vehicle and an updated VIP lounge were supplied by the Makinde administration at the airport.

Additionally, a 500,000-liter facility for storing and dispensing aviation fuel was erected.
