Baba Yusuf, a political strategist and the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Global Investment and Trade Company, has said that the country’s security situation is bad and that bandits will soon enter the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives.
Yusuf said this during an interview on Arise News, according to Naija News. He said that Nigerians were now paying taxes to bandits and going to them for help in the North.
He also said that politicians are using the country’s problems to get ahead, and that terrorists are taunting Nigeria and daring the state to do something about it.
Yusuf remembered what President Bola Tinubu said when he visited Plateau State: “It will never happen again.” But the next day, terrorists attacked a community in the state.
He says that terrorists are killing soldiers, putting on military uniforms, and going to talk to the government, then going home without any problems and even sending the government notices.
He said, “We’re already there.” And why did I say that? First, I said that events don’t measure performance; impacts and outcomes do.
“If we look at how unsafe Nigeria has become in the last three and a half years, it’s going down into Nigeria from places we never thought they would go, like Niger and Kwara.
“You can see what they’re doing. They come when they want to in Benue and Plateau. Two weeks ago, Mr. President told the widows, I mean the victims, in Plateau, “It will never happen again.” These people had the nerve to make it happen again the next day.
“They are daring the state.” They’re making fun of us. They wear the uniforms of our military and armed forces when they kill our soldiers and then go to what is called a mediation arrangement with the government.
“This bandit wore the uniform of the Assistant Commissioner, brought his gun, and went home without any problems. They are on the internet. We know what they are called. They don’t even care to hide their faces.
“They send out notices, and then they come on the day of the notice and do what they said they would do.” Now they are overrunning brigades, not just in cities but also in the theater of war, and they are overrunning the brigade. They kill our generals and colonels every day.
The ruling party makes it seem like it’s not a big deal, and the opposition uses it to look good while people die every day. This is an issue that we should all take seriously, no matter what party we’re in. And we should handle this differently; as I said before, it will still happen. You see, I said it on another sister station very soon, bandits will be in the Senate and the House of Representatives because Nigerians are paying them taxes in the north.
“People are starting to trust them. They go to them to settle things. They go to them to stay safe. We are saying that we are making progress and that we shouldn’t talk about it.
