Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo state, was introduced to politics by Philip Shaibu, the state’s deputy governor, according to an interview. Mr. Philip acknowledged that the people of Edo State value the work the former APC chairman has done for them. However, he made the point that there is a proper time to step away from the political scene to make room for newcomers and other young people to join us.
Speaking about Oshiomhole’s desire to run for the Edo North Senatorial district, Philip Shaibu described it as a direct revolution against their political pact in Edo state. Shaibu thinks Comrade Adams is biting the hand that fed him and that since Oshiomhole introduced him to politics, he hasn’t gotten anything from him.

He said, ”We agreed that we must leave the stage when the ovation is loudest, he has failed in that. At 76, he can’t be nailing down on contesting for election. Oshiomhole is disgracing some of us by contesting for election at his age. And we have to speak very loud against it.”
