Citing Islamic values and the need to uphold moral norms, the Katsina State chapter of Sharia Police, Hisbah, has banned all nightclub operations in the state.
In a statement issued in Katsina on Wednesday, Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), the Hisbah Commander-General, revealed this occurrence.
“Nightclub owners must shut down their establishments to prevent unethical behavior, protect society, and address security concerns in the state,” he stressed.

“Violators will be subject to severe penalties,” the board warned. The directive has been directed to be fully complied with by security authorities.
“Our goal is to establish a society that upholds moral principles while maintaining peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman declared.
Additionally, he revealed that the Board has contacted relevant security authorities, such as the State’s Commissioner for Internal Security, to guarantee the directive’s successful execution.
Usman said this move aligns with Hisbah’s broader efforts to ensure citizens continue to live their lives in conformity with moral and religious values.
Members of the state’s Hisbah Corps were cautioned by Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, the governor of Sokoto State, just three months ago not to take advantage of defenseless civilians.
Governor Aliyu reminded the Hisbah Corps members that they have to conduct their operations in accordance with the law and make sure they don’t violate any current laws in the country.
During the inauguration of the re-established Sokoto State Hisbah Corps, Aliyu reportedly made this statement in an effort to curb vices and social decay in the state.
To guarantee rigorous adherence to the regulations governing its foundation, he pledged that the Hisbah’s operations would be closely observed.

“The goal of the Hisbah board is to support the traditional security services in preserving the lives and property of the state’s citizens, not to take their place.
In accordance with the law, the Hisbah board has the right to conduct arrests and then turn suspects over to the police so they can face the Shari’a Court.
“To ensure strict compliance with the laws that govern its establishment, we will continue to monitor the corps’ activities,” Governor Aliyu stated.
