After being accused of mistreating a youth corps member assigned to Government Day Junior Secondary School in Kulende, Ilorin, the Kwara State Government demoted the instructor.

In a joint statement released in Ilorin, Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu and Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar, Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, announced that Hajia Fatimoh Hamzat Nike had been demoted by two grade levels.

“The investigative panel established on the matter found Hajia Hamzat Fatimoh Nike guilty of fighting on duty, using foul language, insubordination, and disrespecting the national identity that the corps member’s uniform represents,” the government stated.

Because of her actions, she has been demoted by two grade levels for violating public service standards.

Additionally, the statement stated that the teacher would be transferred from her current school and attend treatment.

Under whatever pretext, the state government stated that such abuse would not be accepted.
