Stella Nwadigo, a nursery school teacher at the Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, was detained, the Lagos State government confirmed on Wednesday, January 8.
Operatives of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency reportedly detained Nwadigo after she was seen in a widely shared video smacking a three-year-old kid for not doing well on a class project.
A teacher named Stella Nwadigo was shown physically and verbally abusing a three-year-old boy named Abayomi Michael in the video that was posted on X, according to Oyindamola.
On social media, Nigerians were incensed by the teacher’s behavior in the video, with many demanding that the school be closed and the teacher be arrested.
On its X account, LDSVA, however, swiftly applauded Nigerians for alerting the agency to the teacher’s actions.
