The governor sent his sympathies to the PDP family, the Bayelsa State Government, the state’s citizens, and the deceased’s personal family.

He hailed Senator Ewhrudjakpo as a brave democrat and a devoted party man, and he begged to God for his spirit to rest.

Additionally, he prayed that God would give the family and the state’s citizens the strength to deal with the loss.

He stated: “On Thursday, I learned of the death of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, our brother and Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

He was a devoted party member who put loyalty and dedication to democracy ahead of self-interest, therefore his passing is terrible and a tragic loss to the state he served till his last breath as well as to us in the PDP.

“I pray to God to give his soul rest and offer my sincere condolences to his family, the government, and the good people of Bayelsa State.

“I also ask God to grant the state and his immediate family the strength to endure the loss.

“Brave Democrat, good night.”
