Chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the meeting approved several major initiatives.

The four decisions reached were:

– Allocation of N3 billion to each state to address immediate challenges, including those caused by recent floods.

– Prioritization of nutrition interventions in the 2025 budget and reinforcement of Food and Nutrition Security task forces.

– Endorsement of the N-774 programme to combat malnutrition, with a call for support from development partners.

– Formation of a new committee, led by the Governor of Gombe State, to address Vaccine-Derived Poliovirus (VDPV) cases, including representatives from affected states and health agencies.

The meeting also featured updates on the Excess Crude Account, Natural Resources Fund, and Stabilisation Account balances, reflecting ongoing fiscal management and planning efforts.

In his address, Vice President Shettima underscored the administration’s dedication to poverty alleviation and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians. “Our commitment to alleviating poverty and improving the quality of life for all Nigerians will not come to fruition unless we work in concert,” Shettima said. He stressed the importance of addressing immediate needs while developing sustainable systems for long-term prosperity.

Shettima acknowledged the challenges faced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and emphasized the need for effective measures. He commended the contributions of development partners like Bill Gates and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who were present at the meeting. “Their ongoing efforts in health, nutrition, agriculture, and education are vital and steadfast commitments,” Shettima noted.
