The Adamawa PDP Local Governments Congress Committee Chairman, Hon. David Iorhembe (retd.), expressed his admiration for the peaceful conduct of the exercise while observing it in Yola South, Yola North, and Gerei LGAs on Monday.
“I am pleased with the high attendance and the level of maturity displayed by our members today. Iorhembe stated, “The consensus option has really helped to unite the party and avoid unnecessary tension.”

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was praised by Iorhembe, who called him a visionary leader whose accomplishments have increased the PDP’s support in the state.
He urged party members to keep supporting the governor, emphasizing that the PDP’s most effective campaign tool was still the performance record of his administration.
“I am confident that the renewed unity within the party will ensure success at the next general election,” the chairman of the committee said.
“PDP is still the party to beat in 2027, and I am sure we will deliver with the unity we have demonstrated here today,” he continued.
The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denounced the way the chairman and members of the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) conducted the local government poll.
In a statement released by its Publicity Secretary, Chris Osa Nehikhare, the party charged that the EDSIEC was conspiring with the Edo State Attorney General.
Nehikare was incensed that the electoral board proceeded with the election in violation of active directives from the National Industrial Court and the Edo State High Court.
The party, he continued, has directed its legal team to file a contempt case against the Attorney General of Edo State, the Chairman of EDSIEC, and its members.
