The Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) on Wednesday confirmed eight new cases of Mpox in three states in the country.

The states are Akwa Ibom, Gombe and Plateau.

The NCDC Director-General, Dr. Jide Idris, confirmed the new cases at a media briefing in Abuja.

The development brought the number of cases so far recorded in the country to 67 in 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
