AIG Nkechi Eze has been appointed Pioneer Director of the Directorate of Force Medical Services by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
The appointment is in line with the IGP’s commitment to substantial police reforms and improved welfare for police personnel, according to a statement released on Thursday by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer.
According to reports, the appointment came after the Force Medical Section was recently upgraded to a full-fledged Directorate.
The renovation is a significant step toward the Nigeria Police Force’s institutionalization of thorough, easily accessible, and effective healthcare services.
AIG Nkechi Eze is a renowned physician, dental surgeon, and administrator who brings over 27 years of exceptional service to her new job, according to the release.
AIG Eze, who was born in Umuahia, Abia State, and is from Agbudu in the Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Benin and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife.

Throughout her remarkable career, she has advanced police healthcare services and officers’ welfare in a number of formations in Oyo, Ekiti, Rivers, the Federal Capital Territory, and Lagos.
While congratulating AIG Eze on her merited appointment, IGP Egbetokun tasked her with using her extensive expertise and demonstrated administrative skills to reposition the Directorate as a model of excellence in the provision of police healthcare.
