The Zamfara State House of Assembly by-election for the Kaura-Namoda South Constituency has been deemed inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
INEC revealed the results at the Kasuwar Daji Collation Centre on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The PDP received 5,339 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 6,999 votes.
The APC now had a 1,660-vote edge.
The APC triumphed in four of the six wards, according to a breakdown of the results, while the PDP prevailed in two:

Ward of Kagara: APC 783, PDP 682

Saka Jiki Ward: PDP 1,021, APC 359.

APC 1,163 and PDP 1,466 in Banga Ward

APC 1,162, PDP 660 in Kyanbarawa Ward

APC 983, PDP 1,580 in Kurya Ward

Ward of Dan Isah: APC 1,887, PDP 592

INEC deemed the election inconclusive despite the APC’s lead, pointing to anomalies and the requirement for a rerun in two voting places in Saka Jiki Ward and three in Kyanbarawa Ward.

In order to decide the final winner, the electoral board promised to provide a new date for the additional election.
