The former spokesperson for former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande, stated on Sunday that his principal has neither left politics or the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akande denied rumors that Osinbajo was leaving politics in a conversation with reporters in Lagos, stating that the former vice president is still a devoted APC member.
There is no reason to believe that he has abandoned politics or the APC, he stated.
He is still actively involved in the party, as far as I know. He will definitely show up if he is invited to any APC caucus meeting.

Following his defeat by President Bola Tinubu in the 2022 APC presidential primary, Osinbajo’s absence from APC meetings has stoked speculation that he is retiring from active politics.
Some blame the consequences from the primary race for his political retreat, while others point to his new post as Global Advisor for the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), which requires a high level of international participation.
Akande, who was Osinbajo’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity during his time there, denied that his boss’ political actions were driven by personal or political grudges.
“I never heard from Osinbajo that he quit politics.” I believe that based on his current engagements, people are just assuming things,” he continued.
Nigerians were reassured by Akande that Osinbajo is still available to support the APC and the country at any time.
