Governor Otti gave the charge Tuesday evening in Umuahia when the state government received members of the Renewed Hope Projects Media Tour who are in Abia to inspect various projects executed by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Alex Otti.

The Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, who represented Otti, said the visit was a major step towards promoting transparency, accountability and public awareness of government projects and policies across the country.

In carrying out this responsibility, I urge you to be guided by the principles of professionalism, objectivity, fairness and accuracy.

Such challenges require journalists who can surmount them, reject misinformation and contribute meaningfully to national development.

“We are delighted to be scrutinised because we believe that real progress has to be looked at, assessed and reported on objectively,” said Governor Otti.

The governor, who urged the media team to freely interact with Abia people, said the various projects executed by the Abia State Government in communities reflected the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who led the team, said in his speech on behalf of the Renewed Hope Media Tour team, that his team would objectively inspect key federal and state projects.

He said there is need for partnership between the federal and state governments for national development.
