Popular Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has said he knows the politicians behind the kidnap incidents in Oyo State.
He also threatened to reveal their names and identities if such politicians don’t stop their criminal activities.
Igboho made the claim and submission on Wednesday while addressing the new executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by Akinteye Bàbàtunde at his home in Soka area of Ibadan.
The activist, who spoke in a video that has since gone viral on the internet, also said he can fight the bandits himself, but all his efforts so far have not been approved by the state government.
He also denied demanding money from the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to rescue the victims who were recently kidnapped from schools in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State by terrorists.
Igboho also alleged that the masterminds of the kidnappers are attempting to make the country ungovernable for President Bola Tinubu, as they did in the time of Goodluck Jonathan.
‘If I am allowed to burst into the hideouts, they will run away. They are not gnomes, they are not mannequins, they are human beings, and so they could be moved. I know the politicians behind them, and if they do not stop their evil acts, I will mention them all. I know ’em. It’s the politicians who put them up that are giving them the ammunition and the money.
They are doing to Tinubu what they did to Jonathan. They want to make the country ungovernable to him. They even have fake news propaganda to scare the masses and distract supporters from the President. Let’s say the recent abduction is not a game. They stole children in Oyo. I volunteered to go. But state government said ‘No.’”
“They (Oyo government) later told me that the kidnappers said if I try to force myself to come and rescue the children, they will kill them all. “If they are serious about rescuing the victims, they should tell my boys and me to chase them out of the forests in our regions and see if those people will remain there even with their bombs and sophisticated weapons,” he said.
The Oyo-based activist also claimed that he has secured the approval of the Federal Government for his security network, christened “Iru Ekun”, but the Oyo State Government warned him from operating and that any attempt by him to rescue the children might lead to their death.
“After I put in place ‘Iru Ekun’ security network, the federal government gave me the nod but the state government said no security must take a step behind them. Do we have to wait until he floods the forests to save these children? I’m just worried about those abductees, nobody can abduct me, not even my family since they’re scattered across Canada and Germany. Why should I worry?
Buhari completed his tenure despite his bad administration. Why are they trying to stop a Yoruba man Tinubu from finishing his? It was Tinubu that rescued me from exile. What reason have I to fight with him? And why do they want to destroy his government? Igboho asked.
Terrorists on May 15 abducted no fewer than 46 pupils and teachers in an attack on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, it was noted.
The attacked schools were Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and L.A. Primary School.
