The Nigeria Police’s Kaduna State Command has reported that 23 people who had been abducted were successfully rescued after a coordinated operation by its officers.
DSC Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, reportedly acknowledged the development in a statement.
The operation was started on the basis of trustworthy information about the movements of armed bandits in the Kajuru region, it was disclosed.

On February 2, 2025, police officers in the Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) moved into the jungle close to Doka Village and engaged a gang of armed bandits who were trying to take their prisoners to Kajuru Forest, according to Hassan.

According to the statement, the operation, which was assisted by military forces and directed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Kajuru Division, caused a large number of bandits to be killed, forcing them to retreat into the forest while injured.

This operation led to the successful rescue of 23 abducted victims who had been reported missing in Kauru LGA. They are now safely reunited with their family.

In order to discourage any future criminal activity, the statement further mentioned that the region is currently subject to heightened patrols and surveillance.

The public was reassured by CP Rabiu Muhammad, the state’s commissioner of police, that the Command would always be dedicated to maintaining community safety and security.

He reaffirmed that the Command will keep working in accordance with Governor Uba Sani’s security vision and purpose, working alongside the military and other security agencies to fight crime and maintain peace across the state.
